Holiday Club, the creative initiative founded by Bisoye Babalola BEM, has since 2020 been dedicated to nurturing the potential of individuals aged 16 to 25 who might not usually have access to mentorship and guidance in the fashion and creative industries.

Each year, Holiday Club takes a number of young individuals and organises for them a series of workshops, events, and programs with creatives currently working in the industry – designers Saul Nash and Priya Ahluwalia are amongst those taking part in the 2023 initiative – with the aim to nurture and empower young minds.

A contemporary, culture-driven, and youth-focused magazine is produced each year by the mentees in support of the scheme – and 2023 marks the release of Issue Two. Entitled “The Origins”, this iteration focusses on the beginnings and remarkable career journeys of a number of industry professionals across fashion, beauty, music, and culture, including Casablanca founder Charaf Tajer; Lulu Kennedy, the founder of Fashion East; and models The Flag Twins.

About Holiday Club, session hair stylist and beauty mentor Nat Bury says: “It’s all about connecting the dots. There’s so many young people with good ideas and Holiday Club helps them develop those and access spaces where they can hopefully make a career out of them. There’s love in London man. You just have to scratch the surface a bit. It’s a great thing Bisoye has set up here. A lot of great people have pitched in to make this happen and i’m just grateful to have a part to play”.
