Louis Vuitton has today announced French basketball player, Victor Wembanyama, as their newest House Ambassador. The young NBA star will join an illustrious list of sporting house ambassadors which includes Carlos Alcaraz, Eileen Gu, and Naomi Osaka.
The young athlete – affectionately known as “Wemby” – began his basketball career in his French hometown of Nanterre before rising in the regional ranks and playing his first match for the National Team in 2022. This was followed by being selected #1 overall in the 2023 NBA Draft by the San Antonio Spurs.
Of the ambassadorship, the house said in a statement: “Striving for excellence and with a perpetual honing of craft, Victor joins Louis Vuitton on a journey of shared values and aligned ambitions. Like Louis Vuitton himself, the young athlete has blazed a trail, excelling in a career that is only just beginning. Louis Vuitton welcomes Victor to the Maison and looks forward to this collaborative adventure ahead”.
