Since its inception in 1978, in the midsole of the Tailwind, Nike’s cushioning technology Air has been used in many different kinds of sports shoe. Now the American athletic brand have taken the technology to the next level, with the release of the Nike Blueprint Pack, which features the best of Air: the Nike Victory 2 and Nike Maxfly 2; a new basketball shoe, the Nike G.T. Hustle 3; updated spikes for track athletes, and a new pair of football boots, the 2024 Nike Mercurial.
The alluring blue, orange, and grey colourway was inspired by company co-founder Bill Bowerman, and for the Blueprint Pack Nike designers created a typography based on his sketchbooks and notes. The collection is to be released just in time for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with the brand stating that “Nodding back to the person who created ‘the blueprint for serving athletes’ seemed right as the best in the world head to Paris this summer”.
The 13-piece collection will be available at nike.com and select retailers July 3.
