Stone Island and New Balance have today announced the second drop of their New Balance 574 Legacy model, which builds upon a collaboration that first came about in 2021. Inspired by archival Stone Island items – including their AW ’88’89 mid-green silk-effect POLYESTER MICROFIBER outer piece – the footwear comes in two alluring colourways, that showcase the Italian luxury brand’s colour expertise.
The latest drop of the pair’s 574 Legacy shoe takes New Balance’s historic silhouette and updates it, in a Nubuck leather inspired by an AW ’88’89 archive shell, while the texture of the iconic New Balance ‘N’ logo takes inspiration from the rubber elbow patch of a SS ’88 RAW CANVAS blouson. The eminently wearable design is completed by a nylon tongue – featuring a Stone Island Compass logo patch – reflective heel tabs, EVA foam midsole with ENCAP technology, and a rubber outsole, ideal for the everyday.
The collaboration is available from the 12th of June in selected Stone Island stores and online at stoneisland.com. The Stone Island x New Balance 574 Legacy will be available globally two days later at NewBalance.com, and at select retailers.
