Stone Island and New Balance, the two cult streetwear and athleisure brands, join forces for the next iteration of the iconic 991 running shoe with the 991v2 – an updated silhouette that’s distinctly contemporary in tone.
Taking its cues from the edgeland industrial spaces that were then repurposed as clubs or venues, the 991v2 features a mesh upper inspired by latticed metal and overlaid with Nubuck leather. Despite the rave-adjacent style, it’s still a functional shoe: it make use of FuelCell cushioning for an enhanced running experience.
The 991v2 is available in a muted, modern colour palette of olive, grey, and black, and includes a number of co-branding details that all feature Stone Island’s iconic compass logo.
The collaboration launches exclusively on stoneisland.com and in selected Stone Island retail stores on October the 4th, 2023, and globally on October the 18th, available on NewBalance.com.
