To support the hotly-anticipated collaboration between Dior and cult label Denim Tears, the French luxury brand has opened a series of pop-events around the world. The London Dior Tears event is currently taking place at Soho’s Phonica Records, and runs until the 13th July.
The capsule collection is inspired by denim, and sees Dior Homme’s creative director Kim Jones join forces with Denim Tears’ Tremaine Emory over a series of ready-to-wear, bags – including the Dior Lingot – and trainers that seamlessly juxtapose the casual and the classic.
Each pop-up store – in addition to London there are others in Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai – features bespoke installations of giant, pillowy-soft inflatables and flowery video projections, lending the spaces a dream-like atmosphere. Visitors to the pop-up will be able to download a digital production from Japanese flower artist Azuma Makoto’s studio via a QR code.
